High overtones are more like whistling through the sax than anything else. Personally I think working on altissimo IF you use it is a good idea, and the first 3-4 overtones are useful, but getting a million overtones is just a party trick.Sax players will notice that they have to listen to the monitor mix at a slightly higher level than rhythm players. The reason is simple. When you play the horn it resonates in your head, therefore you'll have to turn up a bit to hear the mix above the natural resonation. I prefer something a little more complex, so I favor the Mark IV over the Mark III. The Performance (alto and tenor) has a more traditional post-to-rib-to-body. The Performance have a detatchable bell. And the neck profile (other than the bore) is very different, very Selmer-like (if not a Selmer-copy). Keys are different, key cups are very different. High overtones are more like whistling through the sax than anything else.
